Theo các thông tin mà Riot Games và Tencent Games mới công bố, giải đấu Liên Minh Huyền Thoại hàng đầu Trung Quốc LPL (League of Legends Pro League) trong mùa giải 2017 sẽ giữ nguyên thể thức thi đấu của mùa giải 2016. Theo đó, 12 đội tham dự LPL Mùa Xuân 2017 sẽ được chia thành 2 bảng, mỗi bảng 6 đội. Các đội sẽ thi đấu vòng tròn 2 lượt với các đội cùng bảng và vòng tròn 1 lượt với các đội khác bảng.
Thể thức thi đấu
Chia làm 2 bảng, mỗi bảng 6 đội.
Các đội sẽ được xếp hạng hạt giống dựa theo kết quả của LPL Mùa Hè 2016 và vòng loại Chung Kết Thế Giới khu vực Trung Quốc:

- Hạt giống số 1 (Edward Gaming và Royal Never Give Up).
- Hạt giống số 2 (I May, Team WE, Snake Esports và Vici Gaming).
- Hạt giống số 3 (Invictus Gaming, Newbee, Game Talents và LGD Gaming).
- Hạt giống số 4 (Oh My God và QG Reapers).
Mỗi đội sẽ thi đấu 16 trận tại vòng bảng:
- Vòng tròn 2 lượt với các đội cùng bảng.
- Vòng tròn một lượt với các đội khác bảng.
Tất cả các trận đấu của vòng bảng sẽ là BO3.

Bốn đội đứng đầu mỗi bảng sẽ giành vé vào vòng chung kết.
- Hai đội đứng đầu mỗi bảng được xếp vào thẳng bán kết.
- Hai đội nhì bảng được xếp vào tứ kết.
Các đội đứng thứ 5 và 6 ở mỗi bảng sẽ phải tham dự vòng thăng hạng giành vé tham dự LPL Mùa Hè 2017.
